Laoag City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) receives assets for the Laoag City Search and Rescue (LCSAR)

On a cloudy Monday morning, November 28, 2016, after the flag raising ceremony at the Laoag City Hall in front of a large crowd, City Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas was presented with a Honda XR150L motorcycle, chainsaw, BP apparatus, axes and complete set of uniforms including t-shirts, polo shirts, caps, pants, pair of shoes and bags for members of the LCSAR.

This benevolent act of our generous sponsors, the Small Town Lottery Lucky Pick Amusement and Development Inc. and one who opted not to have his name announced publicly was made possible through the initiative of Mr. Derick B. Lao, CDRRMO III, with the support of our beloved City Mayor, our City Vice Mayor, Hon. Michael V. Fariñas and Melvin Medel D. Manuel, MD, CDRRMO IV.

Father Ambrose Monroy of the St. William’s Cathedral thereafter immediately performed the ceremonial blessing of the newly acquired assets together with the SAR personnel who will be utilizing the aforementioned whenever the need arises.

The advantage of having a well-equipped responder is easy identification during response; also, this will surely boost their morale as very reliable frontline defense against disasters and calamities.  This is yet again another accomplishment for Laoag City’s greater glory and battle cry: SELNAG! Save Every Life with Nobility And Grace!
