2017 Outstanding Laoagueños

The finale of the month-long activities of the Pamulinawen Festival XXI, ACHIEVE, was the Awarding of Outstanding Laoagueños last February 25, 2017 at the Laoag City auditorium. Thirteen awardees in their respective fields of endeavor were given the rare opportunity of receiving the prestigious award.

City Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas,  together with the father of the City, Vice Mayor Michael V. Fariñas,  some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Heads of Office of the city government, and selected employees were present to witness the awarding ceremony, together with the family members of the awardees.

The occasion was graced by the renowned LA DIVAS of the Ilocos Norte National High School who led the Doxology and the singing of the Lupang Hinirang.  City Vice Mayor Michael V. Fariñas shared his words of wisdom and welcomed everyone to the awarding ceremony. Dinner was served immediately after, while the equally talented String Quartet of the Ilocos Norte National High School, under the tutelage of Mr. Angelbert Laureta, entertained the crowd.

City Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas gave her inspirational message and thoughts about the Award, stressing that

“ultimately, success is not about glorious crowning acts of keeping our accomplishment focused on a goal and motivated to do our best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine “.

Plaques of Recognition and bouquets were given to the winners.
