Mr. Laoag City is Mister Ocean of Misters of Filipinas 2017

Besting 23 other candidates nationwide and abroad, Mr. Laoag Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) 2017 Mr. Carlo Pasion won Misters of Filipinas Ocean 2017 held last September 30 at the One Explanade, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

 

According to neophyte Carlo, he never expected to win one of the major awards considering his fellow candidates who were already exposed and have won several competitions like this.

According to the brave and gallant Carlo, he was so tense and nervous during the coronation night. It was his first time to join and more so, representing the city of Laoag, but he admits to have enjoyed everything especially the experience.

Carlo thanked the Almighty for giving him strength and courage joining the most prestigious men’s search in the country. He also thanked the city government of Laoag headed by Mayor Chevylle V. Fariñas for the support and trust, especially to city Councilor Handy Lao who happens to be his handler.

Likewise, he also expressed his thanks to all the people who prayed and supported him since the start of the competition, saying the award is for the people of Laoag and the city as well.

A pageant icon and a captivating computer programmer, Carlo showcased a genuine Ilocano charm. He is currently an advocate of physical health and wellness by being a volunteer gym instructor to interested youngsters who enjoy body-building programs.

His ultimate dream is to develop a software for medical purposes that would somehow contribute in preventing serious illnesses. He said that his prime advocacy in the pageant was care for the children and those Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

During the coronation night, the handsome Carlo also won special awards like Mister Talent, Mister Anytime Fitness, and Mister Missosology Choice Awards. It was learned that Carlo will be representing the country next year in an International Pageant.  And in preparation for the this, Carlo said that he maintains a physically fit body by going to the gym daily, eating nutritious foods, and verbal and mental workshops.

Other winners include Misters of Filipinas 2nd Runner-Up John Joseph Hipolito (Filipino Community of Italy); 1st Runner-Up Jonathan Maniquis (San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan); Universe Tourism Ion Perez (Capas, Tarlac); Man of the Year Robi Kust (Filipino Community of Germany); Supranational Yves Campos (Filipino Community of Hawaii, USA); Man of the World Clint Karklins Peralta (Camarines Sur); and International Raven Renz Lansangan (Mabalacat, Pampanga).

In behalf of the people of Laoag, Mayor Fariñas also sent her congratulations to Carlo for bagging Misters of Filipinas Ocean 2017 and for bringing additional pride to the city of Laoag. She said that the city of Laoag is very lucky and more so to Carlo because it is the first time that Laoag has a representative in this kind of competition and he made it in the top.

The mayor believes that Carlo uplifts the morale of men in the city hoping that this will encourage others in joining any kind of competition in order for them to share and expsoe their respective talents.

Relative to this, the Mayor now approves the yearly conduct of Mr. Laoag to be incorporated in the Pamulinawen Festival, believing that this also brings good results with the help and guidance of Mr. Lao.

Reacting to this, Lao also expressed his thanks and appreciation to mayor Fariñas and all the people and sponsors who helped, since Laoag City hosted the pre-pageant competition held last September 26 until the coronation night.

According to Lao, Carlo did his best in bringing home one of the major awards. Indeed, this is the fruit of their hardships and prayers. He further said that the fist ever Mr. Laoag search held last February during the Pamulinawen Festival had a big help in choosing someone who will best represent the city of Laoag in national men’s competitions.

He further thanked the mayor for considering Mr. Laoag search to be a yearly pageant of the Pamulinawen Festival aside from the Miss ABC and Miss Laoag.
