The city is linked to Metro Manila by a first class national road parallel to the coastline of Ilocos Region and with the national highway traversing the city, access to and from the otherprovinces is made easier and faster. Eight hours away from Manila, air-conditioned buses are available from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon for day trips and 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight for night trips.

Manila to Laoag

The City of Laoag may be far from Metro Manila but don’t let the 8-9 hour ride inhibit you from seeing a spectacular place because there are many bus companies going there. The trip to the City of Laoag is made memorable by passing through the rice fields of Bulacan, Pampanga, and Tarlac. The last provinces that you’ll pass by are Pangasinan, La Union, and Ilocos Sur. Several bus lines serve the route including Florida Bus Line, Partas Liner, Maria de Leon Trans and Fariñas Transit. The trip is via North Luzon Expressway and Manila North Road passing through the provinces of Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union and Ilocos Sur.

Philippine Airlines

By air, Philippine Airlines fly to Laoag daily from Manila, travel time is an hour. From Laoag International Airport, there are tricycles and public jeepneys that can take you to the city proper.

Clark to Laoag

From Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark Field, Pampanga, ride the shuttle or jeepney going to Dau Integrated Bus Terminal. In Dau Terminal, look for buses going to Laoag, usually Partas Trans and Fariñas Trans being common.

Baguio to Laoag

Partas Trans and Fariñas Transit, as well as vans are available daily from Baguio City Bus Terminal to Laoag, travel time is about 6 to 7 hours depending on road condition.

Cagayan to Laoag

If you’re coming from Cagayan Province, GMW Liner and Florida Liner operate buses to Laoag. There are also UV Express vans travelling to Laoag and vice versa.
