DULANG COOKFEST 2022
DULANG COOKFEST: As part of Charter Day, the Dulang Cookfest was held on June 19, 2022, being the highlight of the 2nd Marunggay Festival participated by the different Barangay Rural Improvement Clubs which aims to showcase the versatility of marunggay as an ingredient for various snacks, desserts, and dishes.
Mayor Michael Marcos Keon led the tasting of the foods prepared by the participants together with the department heads. Judges include Dr. Norma Valera, Professor of MMSU-CIT; Dr. TEresita Pablo, Professor of MMSU-CIT; Ms Realyn Salvador, Instructor of MMSU-CIT; Ms Marlyn Gayoc, City Nutritionist/Dietitian; and Ms Pamela Aragoza, Owner of La Preciosa and the Chairman of the Board. 2nd Place – Apaya RIC (Marunggay Balls)
3RD Place – 4H Club of Laoag (Marunggay Curry Rice)

1st Place – BNS (Marunggay Puto Flan)
2ND Place – Salet-Bulangon RIC (Marunggay Cheese Puto)
3RD Place – Mangato-A RIC (Marunggay Chips)
Dessert Category
1st Place – Darayday RIC (Marunggay Graham)
2ND Place – Balatong RIC (Marunggay Jelly Gulaman)
3RD Place – Buttong RIC (Marunggay Pancake Crepe)
The Dulang Cookfest was organized by the City Agriculturist Office headed by Engr. Sheila Marie Opelac and the City Tourism Office and Communications and Media Office headed by Atty. Charito Malicad.
